10% jobless rate

1. What is this article about?
through the end of next year, the rate of unemployment in the U.S will stay at the same low, with some increase to 10%. Also, the economy will recover from its recession alot faster than the unemployment rate. Ms. Romer (the chairwoman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers) said that a survey of economic forecasters prepared by Blue Chip Economic Indicators, a research organization, forecast that unemployment would peak at 10.1 percent in the second quarter of 2010, up from 9.8 percent last month, and would be at 9.6 percent at the end of next year.

2. Why did you choose it -- what did you find interesting about it?
i have chose this information to blog about because it can effect my life. Next year i will be in college, and if i dont have the job i do now, i will be looking for a new one. If the unemployment rate is increasing, it will be hard for me to get a job. This article intrigues me because almost everyone is worried about this crisis.

3. Do you agree with what's happening in the story? Why or why not?
i think this article is a pretty accurate representation of the prediction of the economy

4. Do you think the information has been presented fairly? Why or why not?
somewhat, because it doesnt necessarily give the opinion of two sides, but i think everyone can agree with it.

5. Would use this news source again? Why or why not?
yes i would use this news source again. The New York Times is one of the most popular news resource in New York.

  1. Marissa, I wish I had the link to the article, because I'm intrigued by your observation that it didn't give the opinion of both sides. You're right that the Times is a popular news resource, but it is also considered part of the "liberal" media.
