1. what is this item about?
its about obama trying to help out the people who dont have jobs right now and trying to make the unemployment rate go down. he turned his attention the unemployment rate but couldnt promise that he could make the rate go down. obama had a white house forum the day before the government released the unemployment rate. he tried to figure out new jobs and ways to make the unemployment rate to go down. obama said he would entertain "every demonstrably good idea" but he said that "our resources are limited."
2. why did you choose it?
i chose this article because it seemed intresting and i know people who are unemployed. its intresting to see what might happen with them and how they can try to get jobs.

yes i do. because the unemployment rate is high and obama is trying to make it lower.

Christina, Good choice of article and an excellent summary and post. But I think you missed part of the point. Obama is saying there isn't much the government can do because it doesn't have the money -- we're already spending $1 trillion more than we take in.
