1.What is your article about?
the number of newly laid-off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits rose last week. the four-week average for jobless claims fell. layoffs are continueing to decline. the four-week average is now at its lowest point since September of last year. companies are lacking confidence in the strength of the recovery.

2.Why did you choose it?
the title said recovery. so i thought the econemy was getting better.

3.Do you agree with what's happening in the news item you chose?

  1. Kathleen, I'm not sure I understand your answer to question 3. Why would we have lower numbers on unemployment if people already out of work can't find a new job? Also, what about this article makes you assess it as being fair?
