OMG SHOES

1.What is this item about?
while citizens in the U.S are trying to survive during this economic crisis, they all seem too need new shoes. People have felt less guilty about buying them. Especially with the "back-to-school" seasons, shoe buying has been quite the same amount since this economic recession has started. "Shoe sales have been strong for three months now. They increased 7.9 percent in October compared with the period a year ago, according to SpendingPulse, an information service by MasterCard Advisors that estimates sales for all forms of payment, including cash, checks and credit cards. In September, sales climbed 7.8 percent year-over-year. In August, shoe sales increased 0.5 percent.", says Stephanie Rosenbloom of the New York Times.

  1. Marissa, What a great choice!!! (Makes me feel less guilty, anyway...) Did you choose the NY Times article or the Fashionista blog with the great title? I love how the article picks up on how economic statistics reflect how real people behave in a down economy and also how your own feeling about shoe shopping (a hobby, I like it) is part of that.
